Shakuntla Devi- The Human Calculator

If you are given with a problem which contains the multiplication of 3 digits numbers or 4 digits numbers and you should do without using calculator , how much time you require to do it. I think it takes couple of minutes. But it takes only seconds for Shakuntla Devi. 

Shakuntla Devi was given the name as "HUMAN CALCULATOR"  when she solved the 23rd root of a 201-digit number in 12 seconds which was faster than the Univac-1108 in 1977.

In 1980, she was also given a task of solving the multiplication of 13 digit numbers picked up by the computer science department of Southern Methodist University, London which was (7,686,369,774,870 X 2,465,099,745,779), she given the answer within a flash in 28 seconds as 18,947,668,177,995,426,462,773,730 which made her to enter into Guinness book of world records.

Shakuntala Devi was born on November 4, 1929 in Bengaluru in a Brahmin Kannadiga family in India. Shakuntala Devi dropped out of school because her father, a circus worker, could not afford the monthly school fee of Rs 2. 

Seeing her mathematical abilities at her very young age, her father taught her mathematical operations like multiplication, division & square root and took her to his circus to demonstrate her quick calculation abilities & memory power to the crowds. At the age of 6, she gave her first major show at Mysore University and there was no turning back after that.

'Puzzles to Puzzle You' is considered as one of Shakuntala Devi's best works for aspiring and budding mathematicians. Critics have rated this book as one of the best reads for people this publication sold over 6,000 copies in its first week and continues to be an inspiration for many.

Shakuntala Devi was also an excellent astrologer as well and provided remedies based on date and time of birth and place. She took her last birth April 21, 2013.

Devil's Bible- Who Posses It, Will Be Cursed With Disaster And Illness

There is book called "Codex Gigas" popularly called as Devil's Bible placed in the National Library of Sweden in Stockholm which is believed to be written with the help of Devil in single night and is considered to be the largest manuscript in the world.

Codex Gigas is made with more than 160 animals skins and it is so heavy around 74 kg that atleast two persons are required to lift the book. This Devil's book is nearly nine inches (22cm) thick and 36 inches (92cm) tall.

Codex Gigas was written in Latin language in the 13th century AD which contained with pages of numerous Christian writings – including a complete version of the Vulgate Bible, which later became the Catholic Church’s official Latin translation.But the origin of this book is unknown. 

It is said that one monk before sentenced to cruel death, He promised to write it in a single night which contain all the human knowledge but as the midnight approached the monk was unable to complete it so he asked Lucifer for help by offering his soul in exchange to finish the book. Lucifer agreed  and signed the work by adding a colorful image of self portrait of himself.

 

But according to the National Geographic, it is said that if one person starts working continuously, day and night, for five years to recreate the contents of Codex Gigas by hand (excluding the illustrations). Therefore, realistically it would have taken at least 25 years for the scribe to create the codex from scratch. 

Smaller texts are also included in the manuscript with the most famous ones including: text on exorcism, magic formulas, a picture of the Heavenly City, and a full page illustration of the Devil.  The illustration is the reason why legend says the codex was written with the devil’s help.   

Cave of Kelpius- A Cave Once Followers Waited For Second Coming

There is a cave in the forest which is near to the side of hill on the bank of Wissahickon, in United States where once followers or the worshipers lived in the cave by setting up a telescope and watched for Christ’s return. So why they abandoned the cave suddenly?....

This cave was named after a philosopher and supposed mystic, John Kelpius, he built this cave which was 40ft long on each side and oriented to the points of the compass. It contained a large assembly room for religious purposes, a schoolroom, and forty tiny cells for the forty members of the community. Four large windows let in light from the west, while the east wall had neither windows nor doors.

So, why did he built this cave?...

John Kelpius, was from a wealthy family who educated from University of Hehnstadt, he devoted himself to theological studies, becoming a follower of Philip Jakob Spener, the founder of the Pietists sect. 

At university, Kelpius became an avid follower of Johann Jacob Zimmerman, a renowned German astronomer, mathematician, and cleric, based on mathematical calculations, the passage of Hailey’s Comet in 1680, Zimmerman determined that the second coming of Christ was imminent.

Zimmerman criticism led to Zimmerman being kicked out of the church in 1685. Realizing that the establishment in the Old World would never heed his warnings, Zimmerman and his followers (including Kelpius) decided to journey to the New World. However, just before setting out for America, Zimmerman died unexpectedly. Thus, Kelpius became the movement’s leader. 

Finally they settled in Philadelphia and built this cave. On the roof of the cave they installed an observatory. This observatory marks the first astronomical observatory in the American Colonies where they set up a telescope and kept watch for Christ’s return. Crowing the observatory was an iron cross within a circle, the mystic sign of the Rosicrucian order.It was an iron sentry that over looked the treetops, so that the rising sun would flood it with rosy light.

There they lived as an unbroken brotherhood for about ten years. They were a complete self-sufficient community, growing corn and fruit. They started the first botanical gardens in the New World. They played many instruments and wrote their own music. They brought the first pipe organ to America for use in their concerts.

Immortal Human- Bringing Life From Death(The Future Is Near)

We always fascinate about this topic to search- "Immortal". We have seen in many movies about people becoming immortal using advance development in science. Is it really possible to become Immortal?

Does we human beings really want to become immortal. God created human beings on earth to live for a certain period of time on earth. And if we using advanced technologies try to become immortal means we are going against the God's will.

There's a dialogue in the movie Jurassic Park- God created dinosaurs,God destroyed Dinosaurs, Man created dinosaurs and Dinosaurs destroys humans. So that means we(Human beings) are making In-balance of nature. So, God created humans, But here humans by becoming immortal is going against the god. If it happens we can surely say that God will create an alternative to destroy the immortals on earth to make balance of nature.

So, is there a scientific technology to make humans immortal. Scientists are on their way to develop this technique. We can say that within few years they will be successful. They are on their stepping stone. Have you ever heard of a technique called- "Cyrogenic Freezing."

Cyrogenic freezing, often called as Cryonics where human body is stored at very low temperatures. Keep in your mind that if human cells are frozen it will rupture. So it will be difficult to bring back to life after death. So how it is possible?...

ShadowMan- Someone Is Watching You Always!!!

When you walk or sit somewhere you feels that someone is behind you watching you always. Is there really a shadow man who is watching you?....

sometimes when you are doing some work. At a time you get a feeling that someone is watching me. But when you look around there will be no one. Is there any shadow man who is watching you. May be there is someone who is watching you. Or be may some subconscious sensation in our brain.

Our subconscious sensation of our brain is so powerful. Even though we don't see someone, it doesn't mean that our subconscious brain is not noticing something in our peripheral vision. any air movement, breathing, vibrations, any sound... any one of these can account for it. And, of course, it does not happen all the time. It is not infallible. 

There is something called Availability Heuristic, which tells that  our memory keeps track mostly of the interesting events, so when you feel something amazing  like sensing the staring of someone, we would remember it over another 100 times when we didn't.

May be we can say it is due to  "Sensed-Presence Effect" in our brain- where our brain produces the sense of someone present when no one is there.

 

Is Sixth Sense - A Myth Sense?

We know and heard that all birds and animals have sixth sense. Is sixth sense really exits?...

There were sayings that years back saints(rushi) has the ability to know the way of water flowing under the earth. We came to know that animals and birds shows their sign ahead if their any danger coming.So what is actually a SIXTH SENSE?

A sixth sense is the mind sense or the power of the mind which has the ability to predict what is going to happen before hand. So does human beings really have sixth sense.

If you ask me this question that whether human has sixth sense , I will say that- Yes, humans really has the sixth sense. But we are not showing any interest to develop this sense. 

Sometimes it is happened many a times in your life that when you are listening to a music in your ipod or any phone without seeing to that device, your mind sometimes predict that the next music is so on so and when the next music or song starts it will be that song only.. How it happened ...?... 

Take one more incident, when you sleep some times some dreams comes. But after some days or some months or may be after years what ever dream you got it will really happens. In that time you says in you mind - Yes!! I have seen this incident long-back in my dreams.. So how it happened..?... 

What ever example i have said above i think it happened in your life.  These all are the power of your mind. Sixth Sense is not a myth. It really exits in every human life but we are not using it or we are not developing it because we all are busy in our life in today's world running for our life.

Mike- A Chicken Without Head Wondered The People

Have you seen a Chicken moving around you after you chop the HEAD of it. It happened in Colorado....

Mike, A Chicken Who Lived for 18 Months Without His Head!!!

It happened on 10th September, 1945-   A farmer of Fruita in Colorado, Lloyd Olsen's wife Clara was having her mother over for dinner that night, and Olsen knew that she always enjoyed a bit of roast chicken neck.

So, as usual he took his axe and chopped the head of a chicken by keeping in his mind that he should save most of the chicken neck. 

When he chopped the head of the chicken, he accidently missed the jugular vein(Large veins in the neck which supplies blood to head and neck), one ear and most of his brain stem.

Due to this, the chicken didn't died instead it started walking as usual.Olsen thought it would die after a couple of minutes. But it didn't happened, chicken even started pecking at the ground for food with his newly minted stump, and made preening motions. 

Next morning, Olsen saw that the chicken was asleep in the barn, having attempted to tuck his head under his wing as he always had.Olsen named the chicken as "Mike" .

Olsen thought of feeding the Mike, he started depositing food and water into Mike's exposed oesophagus via a little eyedropper. He even got small grains of corn sometimes as a treat.

Mike's cerebellum was positioned below his massive eye holes and was spared by Olsen’s axe means he was still perfectly able to perform basic motor functions and breathe. He was just a little bit more clumsy now because, you know, he had no eyes. 

Mike was able to survive for 18 Months by gaining its weight from 2.5 pounds to almost 8 pounds.

Still today people love Mike in Colorado. Every third weekend of May, locals will hold an annual Mike the Headless Chicken Festival, where they can enjoy music, contests, and food.
